Abstract

This paper analyzes and summarizes the evaluation indicators that affect the online learning of elderly users, effectively alleviates the cognitive load of the elderly group with a medium or above education degree in online learning, and improves their user experience. The subjective and objective methods were combined. First, eye movement experiments were carried out on the three kinds of layout of geriatric learning interface and three kinds of fonts at different levels by eye movement tracking technology. Then, the cognitive load and user experience were scored respectively by using Pass subjective scale and Likert five-point scale. The realization of online learning for the elderly is an important part of future learning, which is conducive to the “active retirement” model. In the design of relevant interfaces, it is suggested to simplify the layout, highlight the main content, retain the navigation function, and increase the font size, so as to effectively reduce the cognitive load of elderly users during online learning and improve their experience.
