Abstract

As a repository of knowledge, museums have always played an important role in knowledge dissemination. The purpose of this paper is to explore better services for children’s learning in the museum environment, and provide a learning service based on positioning games to promote children to discover fun and stimulate interest in learning through interactive experience and positioning games in the museum environment. First, we reviewed the inadequacies and causes of past museum interactive display designs for children in China, and summarized the ideal elements for children to learn in museums. Second, we introduced the positioning game and brought it to the museum exhibit for exploration and experimentation. Third, according to the interactive design concept and using design tools to continuously change the version, we generate a set of positioning games based on the knowledge content of the Prehistoric Biology Hall of the China Geological Museum. Finally, this set of learning services based on positioning games will be implemented in the China Geological Museum.
