Abstract

The problem of over-consumption and waste of product packaging has aroused public concern. This study introduces the concept of product service system design and the technological evolution principle to address this social problem. By analysing the current situation of product packaging, the necessity and feasibility of improving the design of product packaging is derived. As the effective implementation of product service system design requires certain theoretical and technical support, the TRIZ of technological evolution principle is introduced as a support tool for product service system, and the concept of sustainability is applied to the field of product packaging in a practical way. Through the combination of the principle of technological evolution and the concept of product service system, it effectively alleviates the problems of serious waste and difficulties in recycling of product packaging, and extends the scope of application of product service system design, and the application of the principle of technological evolution also brings a new development direction for product service system. This study validates an example of the application of product service system in combination with the principle of technological evolution, using the packaging of information and communication equipment as an example. The results demonstrate that combining product service systems with technological evolutionary principle leads to better sustainability goals for industrial product packaging.
