Abstract

In the field of ICT, cooperation involves a multiplicity of entities (users, devices) that share some resources across a communication network in order to enhance the execution of a task. More recently, with the resurgence of the original Tesla’s idea of wirelessly transferring energy, cooperation widens its scope to include energy sharing. This emerging perspective materializes in the new paradigm of wireless energy networks (WEN). The present paper starts a project aimed at contributing to lay the foundations for the architecture and design of WEN, with special emphasis on the development of protocols for the energy exchange between devices.
