Abstract

Ecological education is very practical in global ecological governance and ecological civilization construction. By creating a high - fidelity environmental context, the metaverse ecological education is more likely to stimulate the ecological emotions of the learners, and then transform into a positive ecological behavior, which can effectively make up for the defects of traditional classroom ecological education. The metaverse ecological education is also facing new challenges such as digital monopoly, infringing learners’ privacy, and learners addicted easily. Therefore, the meta-verse ecological education should adhere to the basic principles of people - oriented, virtual and real balance, and sustainable. By improving teachers’ digital literacy levels, creating a digital learning environment, it actively realizes the meta-verse ecological education. This is not only a realistic requirement for the construction of ecological civilization, but also a new topic facing the development of ecological education.
