Abstract

The paper at hand describes a step further into the upcoming approach of integrated pathways in health care and the increased demand of integrated learning and knowledge (re-)production in health care organizations. The overall concept and technological infrastructure developed in order to enable the implementation of this concept step by step in health care organizations includes following components: Two newly established and certified learning arrangements in health care (learning modules), a learning platform tool, an online conferencing tool, a tool for creating learning content, an approach for working on graph based knowledge structures as well as an approach for “integrated working science” [13], which aims at the enhancement of continuous learning in organizations by regarding several meta levels. The virtual learning concept – as part of the approach – has been applied by performing courses with groups of participants of different profession in health care during the last two years. The concept offers insights for people involved in management of education as well as organizational development in health care on how to implement approaches of integrated learning.
