Abstract

Since the 1990s, China’s ageing process has accelerated. With the increase of age and the ageing of physiological functions, the elderly are more prone to diseases. At present, there are not many health-monitoring smartwatches for the elderly in the Chinese market, and fewer elderly people use health-monitoring smartwatches. The user experience of health monitoring smartwatches for the elderly in the Chinese market still has a large room for improvement. This study investigates the elderly population living in first and second-tier cities in China. The KANO questionnaire was used to investigate the functional requirements of the Chinese elderly for health monitoring smartwatches, and the results were analyzed. Five-level Likert scale was used to evaluate the visual elements that the Chinese elderly feel comfortable with the interface of the health monitoring smartwatch. Based on the research results, limitations, and future development of this paper, relevant suggestions are proposed, hoping to provide a reference for similar design cases and improve the quality of life of the elderly in the field of design.
