Cross-Cultural Design (HCII 2023)

Abstract

Due to the lack of experience in the age-friendly design transformation, small and medium-sized enterprises typically do not have relevant research capabilities for pursuing relevant data to meet the standards. Currently they rigidly apply the standard requirements in the process of this transformation, resulting in imbalance in design effect and experience. Reflecting on the literature and user studies, we describe project-based learning (PBL) practice and three sets of novel contexts, target user groups, and design solutions to support future age-friendly design. The overall evaluation was positive, with some valuable suggestions for the user interactions and features.
