Abstract

The realization of self-organized network communication based on OLSR protocol by multiple UAVs in the air is the core of this demonstration. Each UAV is equipped with a raspberry pie and a physical transmission device, and a ground station as the overall dispatching and command. After the UAV is powered on, it will automatically complete networking. Each UAV is a network node with equal status. The joining or leaving of any UAV will not affect the smoothness of the whole network. If a UAV quits the network midway due to power or network, other UAVs can still communicate normally, and when the UAV returns to normal status, it can rejoin the network after simple configuration. The UAV and the ground station can transmit videos, images and commands through ROS communication mechanism under the support of multi hop ad hoc network, and the UAV and the UAV can also exchange information as needed. The whole system can be used in agricultural detection, emergency rescue, regional coverage, small-scale operations and other application scenarios.
