Abstract

This paper presents a review of recent advancements in network automation, such as Intent-based Networking (IBN), network orchestration, automation tools, network analytics, Software-defined Networking (SDN), and cloud-native networking, and examines their potential impact on various applications. It highlights the benefits, challenges, and potential applications of these developments and notes that the adoption of network automation has grown significantly in recent years and is projected to continue to do so. Nevertheless, to optimize outcomes, organizations must cautiously evaluate their network automation requirements and select appropriate tools and techniques that align with their business goals and objectives. The paper concludes by considering future possibilities for network automation and research directions that can help to enhance this field.
