Abstract

Data governance is an important activity for data-centric digital transformation. One of the main elements of data governance is a data maturity model. In this paper, we summarize the main existing data maturity models. We also describe the Alarcos’ Model for Data Maturity (MAMD in Spanish). MAMD is an ISO/IEC 33000-based framework for data governance, data management, and data quality management. MAMD consists of a Process Reference Model (PRM) and a Process Assessment Model (PAM), including a Maturity Model. One of the most important components of the PAM is a maturity model. Some practical experiences using this model are also presented.
