Abstract
This paper describes the basic concepts of the born-accessible approach to design and development, and compares it to the existing models of retrofitting digital technologies and content for accessibility. This paper is a short summary of the keynote speech from INTERACT 2023, which provides a framework for born-accessible design and a vision for the research and development work needed to influence future technologies towards the born-accessible model.
