Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach to address the challenges encountered by service seekers and providers in the Philippines when accessing household services. Existing methods of finding skilled service providers, such as word of mouth, telephone directories, and social media, are often slow, unreliable, and lack transparency. Meanwhile, service providers need help reaching potential customers, overcoming the technology gap, and using expensive promotional methods. To overcome these challenges, we propose developing a set of mobile applications that provides a comprehensive platform for seekers to connect with home service providers. The platform will incorporate a rating system based on customer feedback, a recommendation system, and a user-friendly mobile app for providers. Additionally, the proposed platform will integrate geolocation technologies, e-payment and cash payment transaction techniques, and a robust communication network. The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of an online platform that facilitates efficient and transparent transactions between service seekers and providers. Our proposed solution can potentially improve the accessibility of household services, create more opportunities for service providers, and enhance the overall quality of services offered. The results of our project can serve as a valuable reference for the development of similar platforms in other countries that face the same problem.
