Abstract
The rapid development of an aging society has highlighted the importance of meeting the basic needs of the elderly in their daily lives, especially in terms of living conditions. To ensure the safety and comfort requirements of the elderly, home products must take into account their physical, cognitive and psychological characteristics. Therefore, a key aspect of designing age-friendly products is to consider their usability and accessibility in the home environment. This emphasizes the importance of creating user-friendly home products for older adults to improve their quality of life. The goal of this study is to improve the ease of use of cleaning products by examining specific forms of operation during product use. Based on ergonomic design principles, this study aims to provide universal design guidelines for older adults when using home cleaning products. By considering the ergonomic requirements and emotional preferences of users, the researchers aim to improve the overall user experience and promote the adoption of cleaning products by older consumers. Guided by ergonomics, specific experimental results of muscle fatigue were analyzed to determine the ideal grip and operating angle of the product handle to ensure the comfort of use of senior-friendly household products. The size and structure of the product was ergonomically designed to meet the daily needs of the elderly while satisfying their physical and psychological needs for ease, safety and comfort. Ultimately, this helps create a happier home lifestyle for seniors.
