Abstract

In the era of media convergence, the discipline of light environment art has changed. The development of media and the evolution of urban environment are the two direct factors. Since the 1980s, the concept of “light environment” has gradually matured in the field of architecture and began to extend to the fields of art, drama, communication, etc. in China, and has extended and crossed to the fields of public art, environmental drama, urban social design, digital art, etc. In recent decades, the concept of light environment art has been divided into four main categories: 1. Landscape concept of light environment art with the purpose of beautifying the environment and constructing visual myths; 2. Media concept of light environment art with the purpose of information multiplication and communication; 3. Post-humanism of light environment art with the purpose of constructing humanized environment and realizing environmental experiential expansion. By sorting out the connotation and concept of light environment art, this paper clarifies the path and direction of the construction and research of light environment art in China.
