Abstract

The machinery compartment of the ship is one of the key components ensuring the proper functioning of the ship’s engine and, consequently, the operation of the entire vessel. The crew responsible for the machinery compartment is exposed to various factors that can influence their health and safety. One of these factors is vibrations generated by the operating machinery and equipment. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of vibrations in the machinery compartment of a ship on the health and safety of the crew. Potential health issues related to vibrations will be analyzed, and measures to reduce the risk to the crew will be examined.
