Abstract

This chapter serves as introduction to the book and to the contributions therein. We provide some relevant background on hybrid and networked dynamical systems and summarize the contribution of each chapter, while illustrating their synergies and connecting themes. The broad spectrum of the contributed chapters is organized into three main thematic areas: Networked Systems; Hybrid Techniques; and Emerging Trends and Approaches for Analysis and Design.
