Abstract

In this lab report, we have conducted an ergonomic evaluation for pilots in vertical take-off and landing for an aircraft using RAMSIS as a part of our course (IE 578: Applied Ergonomics) requirement at Purdue University. The report covers a holistic evaluation of various factors like reachability, outside visibility, comfort level, obstructions, acuity, and reflection for different anthropometries. The recommendations suggested in the class lab sessions and literary sources, as cited in the report, have been used for improvising the ergonomic design. Further, the changes in the above parameters, as demonstrated in the report, are devised to suit the range of the defined samples. The analysis provided insights into the importance of the mentioned factors and areas for improvement to create an ergonomic design.
