Abstract
During the last decade, Central Italy has been hardly hit by several earthquakes, creating many victims and causing heavy damage to buildings and houses. Restoration, financed by the central government, brought out the need for a reliable process for recording and tracking back the maintenance history of every building. This paper presents a novel solution for tracking and managing seismic interventions in buildings. The proposed system, called “Building Ledger Dossier”, defines the implementation of a Digital Twin of the building and leverages Blockchain Technology to create an immutable and transparent record of all interventions performed on the artefact. The structure is assumed to be modelled with the Open Sees framework, and all projects and interventions are registered as Non-Fungible Tokens on a Blockchain network to gain benefit from time-stamping and foster Accountability. A decentralised autonomous organisation manages identity access and work advancement approval systems.
