Abstract

Nepal faces the challenge of rapid population growth and the need for agricultural productivity enhancement. Particularly in the vicinity of the capital, Kathmandu, the expansion of agricultural supply has become significant. Digital technology adoption, especially leveraging IoT data, holds promise for sustainable agricultural businesses and reduction of food waste. Additionally, analyzing the correlation between weather data and agricultural trends presents innovative opportunities in Nepal’s agricultural sector. The emergence of “Smart Agriculture,” driven by technological innovations such as IoT and AI, is witnessing global implementation and validation. These initiatives optimize crop management, fertilizer application, pest control, and more. In our study, we evaluate field management efficiency by deploying IoT sensors in farmer’s greenhouses, providing real-time data via smartphone apps, and accumulating analytical insights. This research contributes to the advancement of Nepal’s agricultural sector by harnessing digital technologies and data-driven approaches to address critical challenges and enhance productivity.
