Abstract

This work proposes a design for a robotic bolting tool to be used in the maintenance procedures for the installation of IFMIF-DONES (International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility - DEMO Oriented Neutron Source). As it will have to work under radiation this paper presents an analysis of its radiation resistance. Specifically, the goal of the bolting tool developed in this contribution is the installation of a Quick Disconnection System (QDS). This is a device which firmly joins pipe flanches, which avoid cutting and welding operations.
