Abstract
In this paper, the fixed frequency or channel assignment problem, so-called FAP/CAP, is considered. The problem is general but it can be taken as relevant for real-world cellular GSM/UMTS networks. There are presented five algorithms to solve this problem. Two of them are created by the authors of this paper. These algorithms: RHA and RKA have been tested, evaluated and compared with previously proposed assignment algorithms on real-life examples. The obtained results showed that the proposed algorithms can provide efficient assignment to respecting cells requirements.
