Definition
Building interfaces for a spatio-temporal query is challenging since a spatio-temporal query may require positions of specific objects in a series of temporal instants while constructing the query. This chapter presents how gaming controllers could be used for creating spatio-temporal queries as a user plays a game. The querying engine retrieves relevant video clip segments from the database as the user controls objects by giving commands using the gaming controller. In the backend, the search engine analyzes video clips that satisfy the user’s query based on the spatio-temporal logic. A sample application of query-by-gaming for tennis video games is also provided in this chapter.
