Abstract

Sound of the Netherlands makes a sound collection from The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision available to a wide audience. This demonstration will showcase the web-based interface as well as the mobile application developed for Sound of the Netherlands. It highlights the thinking behind the design, crowdsourcing aspects, the impact of the project and (re-) use of Sound of the Netherlands datasets and infrastructure, as well as the future work to expand to a pan-European collection of sounds.
