Abstract

Recovery and renovation are two opposite management approaches to minor cultural heritage, when the lack of public funding exposes it to risk of abandonment and ruin. Referring to an architectural complex located in a minor urban centre of the Syracuse Province, this paper provides a project management valuation pattern, based on parceling the buildings in standard elementary units suitable to be handled by the means of a digital appraisal cost model. Successively, a business plan model, based on the same database, is applied in order to assess financial sustainability and economic convenience for the investments involving the different buildings and their different functions. This model contains the analysis, referring to each single component, work, and project choice and facilitates the maximization of the ratio economic and architectural qualities.
