Abstract

The Semantic Web constitutes a promising platform for the development of computer support for cooperative work. However, the maturity of the related technologies and available datasets poses new challenges. Knowing what these challenges are, and assessing their impact in advance can save effort and reduce the chance of failure. In this article we discuss the specific challenges in the development of an application that integrates collaborative product reviews available in the Semantic Web. The challenges we identify, if not tackled, translate to an additional effort in the integration process, the need to discard available data, and potential inconsistencies and lack of data-quality in the final product.
