Abstract

This paper describes the conceptual development and prototypical implementation of a business simulation for the IT governance framework COBIT. In the first part the concept of serious games will be explained and the benefits and challenges of a simulation developed this way will be shown. The second part illustrates IT governance and the structures of COBIT. In the third part the contents for the COBIT simulation are selected and transferred into an optimized simulation model. The paper concludes with an overview of the conceptual development process of the business simulation and the technical implementation of an early staged prototype.
