Google Fusion Tables (GFT) is a web-based tool for managing, visualizing, sharing, and publishing structured data. Users can create tables from CSV, KML, or spreadsheet files, as well as directly from Google Sheets. Data can be textual, numeric, or geographic for maps such as coordinates, polygons, or addresses (these are geocoded within the application). Users can join a table with their own or other tables based on shared values. The joined table enforces access permissions appropriately and maintains a live link to propagate changes and corrections made to the underlying tables immediately. As a key use case, users can easily fuse their own attribute data with polygons in publicly shared tables (such as country boundaries or electoral district boundaries) to create live-updating thematic maps. APIs for mapping and data management are also supported.
