Abstract

In 1969-1974 I studied mathematics at the University of Barcelona. In 1972 I attended the problems sessions on probability theory given by a young assistant called Enric Trillas. His teaching performance was a superb combination of clear presentations and motivating ideas. This was not the general level, he was an exceptional case at that faculty. So the next year I took his statistics course and this was the year that Trillas became full professor of mathematics at the Architecture School (ETSAB) in the Technical University in Barcelona.
