Abstract
Coordination has become a significant factor of the integration of various parts of the organization as well as various organizations of the supply chain. This seems to be a key factor in the success of logistics management. It is also an element allowing for a common list of tasks to be accomplished as well as common objectives to be achieved in the selected system (micro- or meta-). The objective of the publication is the theoretical discourse on the topic of coordination in the supply chains. General premises regarding the topic have been presented in the first part of the publication. The starting point of the theoretical argumentation is the presentation of the meaning of the term supply chain (part 2) as well as coordination (part 3). This has allowed for the types of coordination, which can occur in supply chain systems to presented in the subsequent parts. The text is concluded with a summary. The presented text is of a review nature.
