Abstract
This paper proposes a logistics ontology based on both the theory of organizational ontology and the consistent methodology of semantic data modeling applied towards the supply chain operations reference model. Codification of the proposed ontology is aimed to facilitate meta-data and data integration of autonomous parties of supply networks. Using a simulated business case, we exemplify the use of the created ontology for knowledge integration in a supply network.

Real-world semantics is the nature and structure of real world entities that define the meaning of ontological concepts and relations between them.

Foundational ontologies are theoretically well-founded domain independent systems of categories, which form a general foundation for domain-specific ontologies.
