Abstract

Tangqiang” means that due to some relations with Object A, Object B gets embroiled or affected in the event in which Object A is mainly involved. This word entirely inherits the metaphorical meaning from its complete form and undergoes construction coercion, behind which metonymy mechanism plays an important role. In addition, the syntactic demands of functional diversification, the pragmatic causes of expression elaboration, and the rhetorical motivations of specific effect-pursuing have also joined hands to promote its formation together.
