Abstract

This paper presents phoneme selection rules for Marathi Articulation for Anuswar places in speech synthesis. In Marathi Literature, written text contains Anuswar at different places on Marathi Alphabets. In this paper, the rules are defined for appropriate selection of phonemes for Anuswar Alphabets in the context of developing Marathi Text to Speech systems. This increases naturalness in output speech of TTS system. This paper proposes procedure for phoneme selection with the place of Anuswar on Alphabet. Decision tree algorithm is proposed to define simple rules for Articulation in Speech synthesis with high Intelligibility. The confusion matrix is defined to show performance of decision tree training and testing.
