Abstract
Cloud computing is on the hype nowadays, new offering appears frequently and the demand on cloud services is growing in an exponential rate. In such dynamic and competitive market, working in silos is not a successful strategy. Therefore, single providers should integrate their resources and move up to a new level of cooperation and interconnection. This federation would bring in added value in terms of QoS, security, economics, etc. but also more complexity regarding federation management and how interoperability between disparate providers would be established. In this paper, we will present our federation concept through a layered autonomous intercloud reference architecture driven by interoperability.
