Abstract
A fundamental challenge in unstructured peer-to-peer systems is how to identify rare resources. Actual solutions only base on local information of peers or from their direct neighbors, which is not enough to know if resources are rare or not. We propose a Resource Availability Measurement for mobile P2P systems which considers knowledge from all peers of the system. Preliminary simulation results show that our estimation of availability is close to the real one.
