Abstract

This paper provides a theoretical analysis of the joint effect of synchronization errors and High Power Amplifiers (HPA) non linear distortions on filter bank based multicarrier (FBMC) systems. A promising class of FBMC modulation called Cosine Modulated Multitone (CMT) will be considered. For the studied system, analytical expressions of the signal to interference ratio (SIR) and bit error rate (BER) will be derived in the presence of HPA distortions, timing errors and carrier frequency offset (CFO). To this end, we have developed a closed-form expression of interference and useful signal powers using some acceptable approximations. The proposed model is compared with existing models designed for the considered system or for other multicarrier systems like SMT (Staggered Modulated Multitone) or OFDM.
