Abstract
We have developed “migaco”, a system supporting young children’s tooth brushing. It is composed of a general toothbrush equipped with a magnet and a smartphone equipped with a geomagnetic sensor (an electronic compass). The output data from the geomagnetic sensor changes corresponding to the movement of the magnet, so that it is possible to know whether the toothbrush has moved or not. We have also introduced machine learning technology to migaco in order to identify the brushing point, and realized users’ requests like “I want to know if my child is brushing the entire teeth properly” or “I want to know which teeth my child did not brush.”
