Abstract
The emerging of digital technology has made the research field in digital library a multidisciplinary research area. Incorporating social factors such as interactiveness and negotiation are novel approach in making digital library more sociable and approachable. Our research represents embedding this capability using case-based reasoning approach. Searching of documents, articles and books will no longer be merely displaying its retrieval list which is considered as very unfriendly. We introduce negotiation engine which gives extended assistance in getting more specific material the user is looking for without the need to manually flip pages for every potential books. The system takes into account the social appearances of the references besides the physical appearances.
