Abstract

Future web-based applications require cubes to be constructed directly from distributed data sources, rather than a centralized data warehouse. Based on the semantic web mechanism, the vision of AVCube (Agile Virtual Cube) is proposed. Information resources should describe properly the cube fragments that they offer. In this paper, description logics (DLs) are enriched by introducing counterpoints of elements in cube model, and a new DLs dialect –— \(\mathcal {SHOQ}\)(DnC) is proposed, which is suitable for the tasks of cube resource description.
