Abstract
Currently the software development industries have to face strict time to market and quality requirements in order to be competitive. As a result, companies are forced to considerably improve their processes for developing applications faster while maintaining a high level of quality. This paper introduces the concept of XML flexible component which is used for implementing an automatic derivation process within a system family approach; as well as, a XML solution to formally define the decision model and open decisions
