Abstract

Direction Finding is an important component in Electronic Warfare (EW) system. The direction finding precision may directly affect signal sorting, recognition, location and jamming decision etc. It is an urgent task to improve the direction finding precision. To solve the problems of time-delay direction finding, this paper proposes a novel way mainly based on Blind Source Separation (BSS) to improve time-delay direction finding performance and completely analyzes the algorithm. The implementation of this time-delay direction finding method is therefore simple and the computation burden is light. The direction finding precision by the modified method is much better than what by conventional way. Experiments conducted in this paper show that applying BSS to time-delay direction finding is efficient and feasible.
