Abstract

Learning Communities represent a great method to assist in the learning of academic knowledge as well as knowledge experiential. For this reason, we propose, in this work, a new architecture model to support mobile learning communities, based on a PDA approach, thus contributing to the improvement in students’ learning. Because of resource limitations in mobile computers, we argue that peer-to-peer – P2P – networks are able to, and suitable for, helping this category of system to minimize these limitations. We explore how well the P2P paradigm can bring new solutions to the issues of mobile data management, data distribution, replication, scalability, robustness and physical failing of a portable system for the individual learner.
