Abstract

NASA was given a direct mandate by Congress to support American education. Under this mandate, NASA has established internships for students to utilize high technologies such as those developed at NASA.

One such technology, the creation of Virtual Humans, is currently being researched by leading corporations like Microsoft and at major universities like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Soon NASA may be able to use this technology to encourage students to pursue careers in science and research. The next generation of students may very well be the Americans who explore space or even land a human on Mars. Virtual Humans can help give these students a clear image of themselves succeeding in these ventures.
