Abstract

In this work we present an architectural overview over a knowledge-based middleware based on Topic Maps. In that, we exploit the TM paradigm as much as possible trying to solve typical middleware-specific tasks. Hereby we use the concept of virtualization to homogenize the data landscape, the TM query language for semantic transformations and a dedicated, RESTful protocol for TM fragment interchange.
