Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNAI,volume 4585))

Abstract

In the paper we present the definition of Pawlak’s model of an information system. The model covers information systems with history, systems with the decomposition of objects or attributes and dynamical information systems. Information systems are closely related to rough set theory and decision support systems. The paper demonstrates how the results of Pawlak’s research can be applied in the artificial intelligence domain.
