Abstract

In this paper we give a short overview of the IST FET Integrated Project FP6-015964 AEOLUS “Algorithmic Principles for Building Efficient Overlay Computers” which is funded by the European Union as part of the Proactive Initiative on Global Computing. We present the motivation and our long-term vision behind it and its objectives. We also give a short description of the research workplan and current activities.
