Abstract
To create believable virtual agents, both the social context and the emotions appearing during the interaction should be taken into account. Most existing models of social context are statically defined. However, research shows that the affective experience during an interaction can induce a modification of social context and more particularly of social relations. In this paper, we propose to explore the dynamics of virtual agent’s social relations. The agent’s social relations are updated according to emotions that appear during the interaction (both the agent’s triggered emotions and those expressed by its interlocutor). The model proposed is qualitatively defined. In its implementation, numerical functions are proposed.
