Abstract

The relationship between vague sets and fuzzy sets are analyzed in this paper. A general model for transforming vague sets into fuzzy sets is proposed. The transformation of a vague set into a fuzzy set is proved to be a many-to-one mapping relation. The validity of this transformation model is also discussed. It establishes a mathematical relationship between the vague set theory and fuzzy set theory.
