Abstract

A number of literature contributions illustrate how collaboration awareness can improve process coordination in distributed work settings. The paper discusses this theme in the light of distributed care supported by Integrated Care Pathways. These process models can be used as source of knowledge to propagate information that promotes both collaboration and clinical awareness. The paper shows on a reference scenario how the CASMAS model can support the design of collaborative applications by focusing on awareness promotion: this can be fostered and modulated to reduce information overflow by using specific features of the model.
