Abstract
Knowledge management is a large interdisciplinary field, and for companies focusing on knowledge management, there are different possible strategies and approaches. This chapter seeks to give an overview of the main approaches of knowledge management that has been studied in other research disciplines, with emphasis to research that has been done in software engineering. In particular, this chapter will identify the main pros and cons of approaches in relation to managing architectural knowledge.
